Usually when you hear a young man speak of sports, they usually talk about how they are going to be the next LeBron James or Terrell Owens. It is almost a rare breed to hear about a young man who chooses to go into the business side of things. “I’d like to think of myself as a cross between Jerry Maguire and Ari Gold from Entourage,” says Marquis Taylor who happens to be the General Manager of Mogul Sports Group, “As a person who played sports and majored in business, I know both sides very well.”

One of the most noticeable aspects of Wordspit is the energetic and perseverant tone he brings to his music. The Brooklyn native attributes the name to his poetic expression. He adds that his brother said “yo, your name is Wordspit and it just kind of stuck.”  Always having known rap was his forte, Wordspit began his creative journey when he was young.  “I used to go to my father’s studio and freestyle for hours.”   Wordspit’s style is one of powerful charisma and cutting edge innovation. “My style is a collaboration of many things. It’s versatile. It’s not standard hip hop. When people listen to me, they’re not just gonna hear standard hip hop. I experiment with a lot of stuff like acoustic guitar, speed metal. I make lyrics entertaining how I deliver it to the people.”

Writing is without doubt a changing art among the times. With the current networking styles and electronic conveniences that don't even require much applied pressure, it's said that Americans are writing more than ever, but their grammatical structure and creative impetus are more than lagging -- let alone productivity. The writing taking place often never leaves the neon glow of an under-desk text message during school hours and has long replaced the art of a meticulously folded, passing-period note. With that said, please allow Parlé to change your possible, current direction by introducing you to two great N.Y. writers that could quite possibly be the last writing duo of the state, the Pen Up Girls, individually known as Fendi of New York and Natalie of New Jersey. We at Parlé feel it safe to say that these two young ladies are on the rise, changing the median in which a writers work begins and ends.
