If E=MC2 then rapper Outasight +music= The Next Big Thing, “I don’t exactly fit the generic formula that’s out there now,” the new emcee admits. “The rap game can be an ever-changing machine but I’ve managed to find my niche within the system and make it work for me.” Whatever your particular style of music may be, Outasight ensures his fans that there is definitely something for everyone in his music. “I grew up listening to a little bit of everything, I don’t exactly fit just one genre or style, I like to think of myself as a universal artist.” Outasight states.
Outasight is currently signed to Warner Bros. Records under Asylum Records and his mixtape Further seems to be all the talk these days in the underground rap world.
The native New York rapper is currently preparing to release his upcoming album tentatively titled From Here To Eternity. When asked if there would be any guest appearances on his album, he calmly replies, “I don’t wanna say no because I haven’t been able to get anyone yet, but I also don’t wanna jinx it, so who knows?” He recalls being able to work with rapper Asher Roth for the “Catch Me If You Can Remix”. “That was crazy because he was the one that reached out to me for the remix, it was a great honor to be able to work with Asher and I hope to be able to work with more big names in the future.”
“I’m always progressing as an artist and a person; I just hope to be able to show people that in my music.” Outasight shows both optimism and humility when discussing himself as an artist so I had to ask how he felt about the current source of media for the newer generation where music can be uploaded and downloaded at the click of a mouse, does it help or hurt his career? “It’s kinda both. I mean, on one hand I’m able to get my music to a newer audience via the internet (i.e. YouTube, facebook, MySpace and etc…) but yeah, it can hurt at times because with all the downloading that’s going on it’s hard to keep track of who has control of my music as far as that goes.”

With a world of opportunities at his fingertips, we would like to wish Outasight much success in his future and encourage all our readers to follow the rapper Outasight…

Sometimes, it must fall upon the journalist to ensure that what they are hearing in an interview is clear enough that they can truthfully and accurately present their subject's words as quotations. This may require asking for an answer repeatedly, admitting you missed something that could have been important, or actively picking and choosing which quotes should be completely captured in a form of verbal triage. Other times, it may simply require asking the subject to slow down because your cell phone's speaker is woefully inadequate. Such was the case with Kirko Bangz, and regrettably, I did not follow the advice laid out above. The following is what I can transcribe from my conversation with the Houston hopeful, whose Drake on promethazine approach has been reverberating within the scene.
