Alan Verly, 24 years old is from Cambridge, Massachusetts. A recent college graduate, Verly has written music related journalism stories for several publications over the past 6 years. Having covered everything from Hip-Hop to R & B to Rock, Pop and Electronica, he is well versed in all types of music.
Herina Ayot
Herina Ayot is a graduate of New York University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Journalism and Mass Communications. She is a staff editor for a healthcare and Life Science publication, OneMedSentinel, and a regular contributor to Parlé Magazine. Previously, she worked at the short lived urban magazine, America, as an intern and later as a Grantwriter for the New York City non-profit, Project Renewal. She also runs a dating and relationship blog called Sinnamon Nights. She lives with her twin boys in Jersey City, New Jersey.
M. Skylar Ezell
Currently residing in Atlanta, GA, Skylar Ezell has been a contributing writer with Parlé since January 2010. While his signature "Week in Review" has become a Parlé staple, Skylar isn't afraid to give readers his take on all things media, music, politics, and more, without shying away from the cold hard facts. The Panama City, FL native is a recent Georgia State University graduate, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism & Public Relations, with a minor in Music Business.
G. Anthony Knowles
G.A. (Gregg) Knowles is a freelance writer and active blogger. Born in Miami, Florida, he has spent over a decade living in Kingston, Jamaica, with his grandparents. Gregg is the Atlanta Ethnic Community writer for Examiner.com where he's an inside source for everything local. In 2010, his articles were the most accessed web-page on Atlanta's Examiner.com, where he provides his unique and original social commentary to enhance and educate ethnic life in the city of Atlanta.

A.D. currently lives in Washington DC. As of now A.D. is a full time college student and freelance writer working with both Parlé Magazine as well as writing his own book at the moment. Alaina grew up in “the thoroughest borough, BK.” A proud Brooklynite and a destined writer, for as long as she was able to write, she wanted to be a writer. Graduating from St. John’s University in Queens with a Bachelor’s in Journalism, she began her life goal to become the world’s greatest.
Joel Jackson

Joel was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and grew up watching sports of all kinds, including golf, tennis, boxing, and wrestling. Music was also part of his life blood, listening to musicians such as Al Green, Isaac Hayes, and The Bar-Kays, where his uncle is still the front man. He attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, an HBCU where our most famous alums include Wilma Rudolph, Ed “Too Tall” Jones, Richard Dent, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and some lady named Oprah Winfrey. There, he was a member of the world famous “Aristocrat of Bands.”

 

Currently, he resides in the wonderful city of Houston, TX. He is a freelance journalist, and along with writing here at Parlé Magazine, is also associate editor for Gladiators Magazine, a Houston area sports magazine, combining two of his passions. He writes with a dry humor but also seriousness. “I like to have a little fun. Life sucks if you can’t laugh, or just giggle a little bit.

Eddwina Gregg is a dynamic fashionista that currently balances her spare time between being a Plus Model, Writer and On-air Radio Personality. She hails from Baltimore, Maryland, but since moving to New York in 2008, she has pursued her passion for all things couture. She has strutted down the catwalk during The Curvy Revolution and 2010 Full Figured Fashion Week in the Full Figured & Fabulous Runway Competition; she was a finalist in the Goddess by Juanita Kelly Model Search, and has appeared on the Tyra Banks Show. Alexander Croft

Born in Atlanta, Croft grew up in Columbus, Ohio, graduating from Ohio State. He's been writing hisentire life but only began to aggressively pursue it more seriously. His experience living in Argentina in 2009 was a catalyst that inspired imh to follow his true passions. Croft is currently writing for several blogs, on topics ranging from music to human nature. Shemiah Williams currently resides in Washington, D.C. She is a communications professional who works as a Communications Manager for a government agency by day and a Freelance Writer by night. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Technology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, she has combined her talents and skills to provide content for websites such as eHow, LIVESTRONG, Suite101 and her blog, Dream Realized.
Natasha Scott
Natasha has always had a passion for poetry and creative writing. She majored in Film & Media Studies at Hunter College and her ultimate goal is to write a screenplay. After reading an article that she submitted for a class assignment, her Professor encouraged her to pursue a career in journalism. She found reporting to be exciting and enjoys the challenge of finding the right story. Waldo Carbo Jr.

Waldo is an aspiring writer, and husband with two kids. After recently closing his landscaping business due to the economy, Waldo heard a man speak named Dr. Cornel West, and was inspired by his words to write about the injustice being perpetrated in this country in regards to the class war aimed at the poor and middle class. This led to the forming of a blog called True Christians for Amerca (TCFA), and then moving on to Parlé Magazine.

 

His strongest influences are Dr. Cornel West, Bill Maher, Tavis Smiley, to name a few.

Patrick Moody
Pat Moody, 24, is a writer out of CT. With a deep love and appreciation for music, he has been a contributor to Parlé Magazine since summer 2010, providing a unique perspective on both current music and artists from the past. Currently pursuing a degree in English, he hopes to continue his career as part of Team Parlé, supplying readers with the best insights he can offer.
Devin Cobbs

A young entrepreneur at heart, Eighteen year old Journalist/Poet by the name Of Devin Cobbs. Writing since the age of ten years old, incorporating life's struggles and obstacles into creative writing inspiration. In the upcoming year releasing an e-book entitled "Renaissance in the Heart of A Lover".

 

Cobbs also plans to launch a foundation geared towards providing food for the homeless and giving needy kids gifts for Christmas as well as teaching them the importance of giving.  His plans are to use the art of writing as a tool to build a better future.

B. David Zarley
B. David Zarley is a recent graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he enjoyed notoriety as Western New York's finest gonzo journalist. Starting on the sidelines covering his beloved Blue Devils, Mr. Zarley soon turned his attention to the Fredonia music scene, founding the seldom updated but always worth it bdznotes.tumblr.com. His interests include writing music reviews, conducting interviews and hooking up with rock stars' girlfriends. Oh, and the B stands for Brian.
AJ Moses
AJ Moses is a 23 year old future writer who may not need an introduction one day, but for now will provide one in the 3rd person (he realizes he sounds like a tool doing so, and thanks you for sticking with this anyway). He has a somewhat unorthodox take on life and thinks that laughter is the only thing that keeps most of us reasonably sane. He is never (ever) spotted without his hat and his smartphone. In his spare time, he enjoys not being at his current job, the Dallas Cowboys, Facebook, taking pictures of random nonsense in the streets, making people laugh, and many things best discussed on his personal website http://undermyfitted.blogspot.com (which, like him, is not guaranteed safe for work).
DeVon Hyman
New York City's own, DeVon Hyman is working hard to become one of the rising stars in the writing game. With his uniique style and imagery, he has carved out a nice niche of consistency and depth in diction. Whether it pertains to interviewing the games up and coming to well established artists, DeVon has shown that he can handle his own expressively. This diligence has made him someone to definitely keep your eye on. DeVon also writers under the pseudonym, Basquiat.

Rising Star ... The Kirko Bangz Interview

Sometimes, it must fall upon the journalist to ensure that what they are hearing in an interview is clear enough that they can truthfully and accurately present their subject's words as quotations. This may require asking for an answer repeatedly, admitting you missed something that could have been important, or actively picking and choosing which quotes should be completely captured in a form of verbal triage. Other times, it may simply require asking the subject to slow down because your cell phone's speaker is woefully inadequate. Such was the case with Kirko Bangz, and regrettably, I did not follow the advice laid out above. The following is what I can transcribe from my conversation with the Houston hopeful, whose Drake on promethazine approach has been reverberating within the scene.
